De master International Accounting and Finance is bedoeld om studenten uit te rusten met de nodige kennis en vaardigheden van de fundamentele principes van financieel management die relevant zijn voor het mondiale bedrijfsleven, om hun operationele effectiviteit op dit specifieke gebied te vergroten, of om te dienen als voorbereiding op verdere studie of een academische carrière.
Het programma omvat financieel management binnen banken, en regulerings- en financiële functies binnen generalistische en niet-financiële bedrijven zoals FMCG's (bedrijven voor consumptiegoederen). De nadruk ligt op de belangrijkste elementen van bedrijfsfinanciering, het bankwezen, economie, regelgeving, internationale financiën, portefeuillebeheer en toegepaste kwantitatieve methoden. Het doel is om ethisch verantwoorde specialisten te produceren die een sterk financieel en bankperspectief hebben op bedrijfsactiviteiten, pensioenfondsen, beleggingsfondsen en internationale financiële markten.
Gedurende het hele programma zal er intensief gebruik worden gemaakt van de financiële softwarepakketten die het meest worden gebruikt in de industrie, en studenten zullen een geavanceerde training krijgen in het gebruik van deze pakketten.

**As part of the School of Management's exchange agreement with Toulouse Business School (France), students, if they wish to, have the opportunity to study one module in ‘Financial Risk Management in European Banking’ in Toulouse each year. Travel and maintenance costs are additional for students. The School usually contributes to the overall budget, but the level of contribution can vary.
Learning and assessment
The program is summatively assessed by a mixture of written examinations, assessed coursework, and applied coursework requiring the use of specialist computer software used on this program as well as case studies, group projects, and multimedia presentations.
Assessment is integrated with learning and teaching to support and demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes for individual modules and the program as a whole. Emphasis is placed on the feedback function of formative assessment as part of the learning, teaching, and assessment strategy as a whole.
