Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in textielontwerp

Graduate students will meet the following student performance criteria:

MFA Thesis

• Present an original thesis concept worthy of the MFA degree
• Demonstrate the feasibility of their thesis project
• Creëer een oeuvre dat in een portfolio wordt ingebouwd, dat een geavanceerd prestatieniveau vertegenwoordigt en gericht is op specifieke marktsegmenten

Textile Design

• Conduct research to develop their creative concept and build a visual story
• Toon een goed begrip van hun markten
• Demonstreer een grondige kennis van herhalingen en technische prints, zowel op papier als op stof
• Ontwerp oppervlaktepatronen voor een grote verscheidenheid aan eindproducten op een geavanceerd niveau
• Demonstreer geavanceerde kennis van computersoftware die in de industrie wordt gebruikt
• Communicate their design ideas 2-dimensionally using traditional and/or digital media

Professional Readiness

• Create a relevant and original portfolio and collateral materials that can be used to market themselves to the industry

Textile Designer

You will research, draw, and design seasonal prints for fashion, interiors, and other surfaces using both hand-drawing and computer skills. Design repeat patterns and graphic prints for the home and apparel. Create and inspire the next wave of textile designs.

• Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and the following Academic Study requirements:
  • 1 Art Historical Awareness & Aesthetic course
